Knysna Timber Initiative

The Knysna Timber Inititative, spearheaded by Gene Kruger, was established to implement a Business Revitalisation Plan for Knysna with the focus on Timber and wood industries.

Kruger used his extensive risk analysis experience and created the cooperative marketing campaign for Arborline Timber Products, Woodmans Timber Agencies, TWA Banisters, JB Woodworking, Seaqual and Integrated Timber Beneficiation Strategy - The Knysna timber Initiative.

Research has shown that the timber industry has a special symbiotic bond, an industry that requires a higher level of skill which often generates more skilled jobs than most other industries.

KTI's business plan includes compiling a resource database which assists in preparing a stronger cooperative marketing plan. With the input of the many timber related industries within Knysna KTI aims to rekindle the historical link and brand name that timber and wood has had with Knysna.

As KTI shares the same goal as the Working with Wood Festival they are have thrown their weight wholeheartdely behind the festival, offering support and help where necessary.
